PROJECT OVERVIEW

Voices on Canvas (VOC) is a supporter of the world wide

‘Child & Youth Friendly City Initiative’. By engaging youth

and adults, in a free art campaign to create their visions in

an artistic fashion of how they see their ‘dream’ city as a

child and youth friendly place to be. VOC sponsors summer art camps within inner urban communities, and extends invitations to individual youth groups, community organization, and summer youth camps; inviting each to participate in its annual Youth Art Festival.

All entries are provided with a FREE canvas, paints, brushes, and competition rubric. Judging of these

entries are during the annual event held during the month of August, and prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, Honorable Mention, and Most Creative categories.

Entries sale proceeds support the VOC “Youth

Uplifting Youth” scholarship fund. VOC chose scholarship nominees, which exemplify the ability to utilize creative

thinking and tools to produce a positive change within their environment physically, socially, and/or functionally.
